Orr Street is the main road of Queenstown.
Parking
There is on-street parking in the streets surrounding Orr Street.
Two parking spaces marked as accessible are available on Bowes Street, at the end closest to Hunter Street. These parking spaces have standard kerbs and are limited to two-hour parking within the hours of 9am–5pm daily.
It is a 70-metre journey from these parking spaces to the top of Crib Road on Orr Street.
A paid West Coast Council carpark is available on Driffield Street at the bottom of Orr Street. Access to this carpark is gained by turning off Driffield Street into a side street opposite the Queenstown Library.
It is a 300-metre journey from this carpark to the entry of Crib Road on Orr Street.
There are two accessible parking spaces in this carpark. They are positioned closest to the West Coast Wilderness Railway building.
There is a cost of $1 per hour to a maximum of $10 in this carpark. Payments can be made with cash or card using the parking meter available, or by using the EasyPark App and entering the parking area number '50001'.
Access to Orr Street can be gained in three different ways: from the intersection of McNamara and Orr Streets, from the intersection of Bowes and Orr Streets, and from the intersection of Sticht and Orr Streets on the IGA side only. Please note that there is no access from Sticht Street on the Delish Pizzeria side. If entering from the McNamara/Orr Streets intersection, you will journey underneath a tall archway that is covered in secured cuts of wood to enter the event space.
You will be met at all entrances by The Unconformity festival staff. Please feel welcome to ask them any questions – they can assist with finding your way around and providing information about the event on Orr Street and the wider festival.
Once inside the event space at Orr Street, you may encounter large rocks that have been placed in the street. These rocks can be looked at and touched.
Large pieces of mining equipment and twisted pieces of wood may be placed in the street. These can also be looked at and touched.
You may see and hear crackling fire pots and be able to feel their heat as you approach them.
Stallholders cooking, making and selling lots of different food and drinks will line Orr Street. Some stalls may have steam and strong smells wafting from their location.
Picnic-style tables will be available for use throughout the event site on Orr Street. These tables are shared between all people attending the event who would like to sit down and eat, drink, talk and/or watch and listen to musicians playing.
There will be a large stage on Orr Street. Musicians play music at the times noted on the Crib Road event page. Music will be loud – consider bringing ear-plugs/-defenders if they would be helpful.
A sound-based work will also ring out across Orr Street throughout the festival. Find out those times on the Shift Change event page.
Orr Street will be open during night-time hours when operating for Crib Road. Night time at Crib Road on Orr Street may feature festoon lighting above your head to create a soft glow of light while people enjoy the evening.
Toilets
A public accessible bathroom and seperate gendered toilets are located at the Headley Faulls Park toilet block on Sticht Street, between Orr and Cutten Streets.
A concrete path leads from the street directly to the entrance of the toilet block.
The accessible bathroom has a manual swing door that opens outwards. Inside the bathroom is a toilet with railing on the two closest walls, a sanitary bin, general-waste bin, sink, hand soap and paper-towel dispenser.
