Grace Helen Garton is a multi-disciplinary artist based in Rosebery on the West Coast of lutruwita/Tasmania.

Grace began her art studies at The Sydney City Art Institute in NSW, completing a Bachelor of Visual Arts. During the mid-eighties, she entered the animation industry, working for various Australian studios full-time as a freelancer and working her way up from a cell painter, to background artist, to Head of Design. She continued to work in this industry for 25 years.

Grace has been a full-time career artist since 2006, building a following with her paintings, fabric sculptures and art dolls. Her work explores the natural world, history and people’s stories.

Grace has had several solo exhibitions and group shows in Naarm/Melbourne and lutruwita/Tasmania.

The Unconformity acknowledges the palawa people as the original and traditional custodians of lutruwita/Tasmania. We commit to working respectfully to honour their ongoing cultural and spiritual connections to this land.
