エミエミ (emi emi) is the experimental J-pop project from 25-year-old, Emi Doi. Born and raised in lutruwita/Tasmania to her Launcestonian mum and Japanese dad, エミエミ Emi sings in a mixture of Japanese and English, drawing inspiration from the likes of Kero Kero Bonito, CHAI, Kyary Pyamu Pyamu and AAAMYYY. Her songwriting, influenced strongly by the vocabulary she is most familiar with, traverses themes of endurance (がんばって!), female empowerment (女の子のパワー!) and eating (食べろ!). Together with Charlie Pyecroft (vocals, synth, DJ), エミエミ (emi emi) aims to lift your spirits and put ドキドキ (doki doki) in your heart. 楽しんでください (≧▽≦)

The Unconformity acknowledges the palawa people as the original and traditional custodians of lutruwita/Tasmania. We commit to working respectfully to honour their ongoing cultural and spiritual connections to this land.
